I was a contractor at Falcorp Technologies from 2011 to September 2017 and was outsourced to their client, Telkom. I was responsible for user interface design, front-end design/development and sometimes graphic design.

Overview

After years of setbacks in my career, I was finally at the right place at the right time. I joined the Telkom "Portal Team" in October 2011 and several months later, after completing a major web application, I got to work on Telkom Mobile's mobile app. And that's how my journey into mobile app design began...

During my time at Telkom I worked on the first version of the following mobile apps:

• Telkom Mobile
• Telkom
• 8ta
• In-store app

How I worked with the team

• I was the sole designer on 3 of the 4 mobile apps
• We had developers for iOS and Android, so I designed assets for both teams
• Mobile & Tablet screens were designed
• Created the HTML for the in-store app, which was embedded within a frame for iOS and Android
• Waterfall approach
• Cross-functional team
